Monica Raye






Monica
 Raye - singer/songwriter/spoken word artist/activist - Monica Raye is a North Carolina native who lives by Paul Robeson's quote, "If the artist doesn't create, the world suffers." As an African American, same-gender loving feminist, Monica Raye has organized extensively against human rights violations, the prison industrial complex, racism and intolerance, and the systematic physical and emotional violence inflicted upon the minds, bodies and spirits of African Americans with an emphasis on African American women and the African American LBGT community. She currently serves as the Executive Director for SisterSong Women of Color Reproductive Justice Collective and performs regularly at live music venues in Atlanta and abroad.
